Engine 7-6D49 (8ChN26/26) is an up-to-date 4-cycle diesel engine of D49 series. It is intended for replacement of obsolete engines 3АE-6D49, 3А-6D49 of shunting and industrial locomotives of series ТGМ8, ТGМ6 operated in climatic conditions T2.

Locomotives of TGM6 series equipped with diesel engines 7-6D49 are operated on railways and at industrial enterprises of the Russian Federation and countries of the Union of Independent States.

Replacement of engine can be carried out on site as the work does not require special equipment.

Installation of diesel engines 7-6D49 in locomotives ТGМ8, ТGМ6 permitted to considerably improve locomotive characteristics (exhaust toxicity, smoke, sound pressure).
