Diesel engines 42 (30/38) with cylinder bore to piston stroke ratio 30/38 are 4-stroke, medium-speed, turbocharged, intercooled engines arranged in-line. These engines were specially developed for marine propulsion plants and meet the requirements for this type of engine application.

Marin engines 30/38 with 4, 6, 8 cylinders arranged in-line (engine speed 360-750 rpm) can be used as main and auxiliary engines: to drive the propeller, the reducing gear (the integrated variety incl.), and the reverse gear as a diesel generator of the double current.
